The scars we acquire

The scars you acquire by exercising courage will never make you feel inferior.

Instead of being concerned

Instead of being concerned that you have no office, be concerned that you may fit yourself for office. Instead of being concerned that you are not known, see to the worthy of being unknown.

Just enjoy the present!

Do not regret the past, do not fear the future, just enjoy the present.

I see great cause for rejoicing

I have looked at the world from the outside and I see no cause for despair. I have looked at the soul from the inside and I see great cause for rejoicing.

The Judge [Last Letters from a Living Dead Man]

Do you shiver and grow afraid when the Equinox approaches?

The sun crosses the line in March when the winds blow and enters the sign of the Ram and the Zodiac is traversed agian by the great life-giver the Sun. Do you shiver and grow afraid when the Equinox approaches?

The Judge [Last Letters from a Living Dead Man]

Did not Columbus start across the trackless ocean, led only by a star of his faith?

Birds shall sing in the trees

When the skies are dark and the snows fall, we gather round the fire and think of the future, when the flowers shall bloom again and green grass shall cover the earth and birds shall sing in the trees.

Winter is the ebb-tide of that changing sea of life whose flood-tide is the summer

You are IT!

“You are IT!
You are running the show.
By not letting your right hand know what your left hand is doing.
By making life a whopping great split between
What you do and
What happens to you.
This is the great illusion, the play,
The Big Act.”

Alan Watts, Om Creative Meditations, Electronic University, The Limits of Language, pp. 135

The you in you is the same as the you in me

And the point is – I AM and YOU ARE. The you in you is the same as the you in me.

There is simply the rose; it exists with God today

These roses under my window do not worry about whether they are better than former roses or whether succeeding roses will be better than they. There is simply the rose; it exists with God today. But human beings, heedless of the riches which surround them, are always on tiptoe to foresee a future, and they do not know how to live completely here and now.

Emerson

Where are you then?

Where are you then?

Answer – You are where you always were!

Above not a tile to cover the head, below not an inch of ground to stand on

Above not a tile to cover the head, below not an inch of ground to stand on.

Zen Buddhist Poem

It is the self in the heart of all being

The Knower
The central Self
Is not born and
Does not die.

It is not produced from anything
And produces nothing apart from itself.
It is unborn, eternal, enduring, primordial.
It is not slain when the body is slain.
If the slayer thinks he slays
Or the slain thinks he is slain
Neither understands.
It neither slays nor can be slain.

Smaller than the small
Greater than the great
It is the self in the heart of all being.

Alan Watts

We are all apertures through which the univserse if looking at itself

The universe is a self-surprising arrangement, so as to avoid the monotony and boredom of knowing everything in advance. And you and I have conspired with ourselves to pretend that we are not really God.

But of course we are.

We are all apertures through which the universe is looking at itself.

This is my commandment, that ye love one another!

Then Peter came to him and said: “Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times?”

Jesus saith unto him: “I say not unto thee until seven times but until seventy times seven.”

“Master, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

Jesus said unto him: “Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This is my commandment, that ye love one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love to one another.

Master Jesus

Whosoever shall humble himself as this little child

Whosoever shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.

Master Jesus

Except ye be converted and become as little children

Verily, I say unto you, except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Master Jesus

Be ye therefore perfect

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.

Master Jesus

Whosoever shall do the will of my Father

Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven, the same is my brother and sister and mother.

Master Jesus

Love your enemies

Ye have heard how that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy but I say unto you, love your enemies. Bless them that persecute you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and curse you.

I will give you a formula for use in time of stress and storm

I will give you a formula for use in time of stress and storm: Reach up to the indwelling Spirit and repeat, “For her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace.”

The Judge [War Letters]

A place of silence

It is only in contact with mind, with desire and with matter, that the Spirit struggles and suffers. In its own home all is peaceful and pleasant. Reach up to that home when the storms are too loud and you will find a place of silence.

The Judge [War Letters]

Experience is an asset

Experience is an asset. Man grows by pain as well as by pleasure.

The Judge [War Letters]

Who dares to say that a State has no morals?

Who dares to say that a State has no morals? Is a State spiritually inferior to a man? No more than a Planetary Spirit is inferior to a State. There is a cosmic morality and whoever goes against it – whether a State or a man – will meet the day of reckoning. Karma is a law.

The Judge [War Letters]

Be still and know that God is God

Be still and know that God is God. In the stillness of perception the petals begin to open and joy steals over the heart and the heart swells with the expanding joy, 'til every fibre of the cross is alive and tingling with the joy at the heart of the rose and the fragrance sweetens the world.

You will never understand your enemy by hating him

You will never understand your enemy by hating him.

The Judge [War Letters]

Understand the Masters

You will never understand the Masters until the love and hate in you unite.

The Judge [War Letters]

The enemy needs love when he shows least of it

On the declaration of peace, your love will flow out again to your enemy. Can you not anticipate the event and love your enemy tonight? The enemy needs love when he shows least of it. Be still and know that the world is the footstool of the Spirit.

The Judge [War Letters]

Love is the highest reach

Love is the highest reach of philosophy and Christ is the highest reach of love.

The Judge [War Letters]

Hate will not serve you

Hate will not serve you. Hate never serves willingly. Remember the words of the Man-God, “Forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

The Judge [War Letters]

The love of Christ is reborn whenever a soul beholds that mystery in his heart

The love of Christ is reborn whenever a soul, in a flash of illumination, beholds that mystery in his heart.

The Judge [War Letters]

For He is there

Worship the Christ in your own heart, for He is there. Worship Him in the heart of your friend, for He is there. Worship Him in the heart of your enemy, for He is also there. Then slay if you can, when you know whom you seek to slay.

The Organs in the Body of Humanity

The races are like organs in the body of Humanity. If one race refuses to work with and for the body of Humanity as well as for itself, it becomes diseased.

The Judge [War Letters]

Great Man, Humanity

Who is the Great Man?
